Did they have some magic sauce?<\/p>\n<p>And how am I ever going to make friends with some cool people?<\/p>\n<p>I too was like you once\u200a\u2014\u200ano cool friends and lots of time spent in misery on my own in front of the telly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Then one day I had a life-changing aha moment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No one was going to find me at home and ask to be friends!<\/p>\n<p>I had to get myself out there. And go to places where all the cool people were hanging out.<\/p>\n<p>I just had to learn what they did to make friends.<\/p>\n<p>And I did.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t magic.<\/p>\n<p>But it seemed liked magic.<\/p>\n<p>Now you too can learn how to make new friends with my 7 magical tips:-<\/p>\n<h3>1. Dazzle Them with Your Smile but Don\u2019t Blind\u00a0Them<\/h3>\n<p>The first thing you can do to create a connection with someone new is smile.<\/p>\n<p>Smiling is such an icebreaker as it will reassure the other person and create a warm feeling all around. Usually, it\u2019ll trigger a smile back from them\u200a\u2014\u200aand you\u2019ll then be on your way to connecting.<\/p>\n<p>Your smile should be warm and welcoming\u200a\u2014\u200anot a goofy smile which could be disarming for some people!<\/p>\n<p>Do this next time you are in a crowd of strangers\u200a\u2014\u200asmile gently and see what reaction you get back.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Rubber Stamp Their Name in Your\u00a0Head<\/h3>\n<p>To most people, the sound of their own name is the most beautiful in the world!<\/p>\n<p>So when you first meet someone, ask them their name and then be sure to remember it. If their name is unusual, ask them how it should be correctly pronounced, and even ask where it is from.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to address them by their name early on in the conversation\u200a\u2014\u200athat will help you remember it.<\/p>\n<p>If it helps, write down their name if they haven\u2019t given you their business or personal card.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Make Eye Contact: Gaze at Them (But don\u2019t\u00a0Stare)<\/h3>\n<p>When you are talking to this new person, do look them in the eye and maintain eye contact as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>This will show them you are interested in what they are saying\u200a\u2014\u200aand will also help you follow what they are saying.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t want to spook them out by fixedly staring into their eyes either!<\/p>\n<p>To get used to the idea of looking people in the eye, practice looking into your own eyes in front of a mirror.<\/p>\n<p>This can be quite a confrontational exercise for some people, but it will do wonders for your self-acceptance\u200a\u2014\u200aand will transform how deeply you connect with people.<\/p>\n<h3>4.
